 COUPON CODE #HOLIDAYSALE

The Holidays are here! It's my time to let my nostalgic self shine and bring out the decorations. The holidays are a time for tradition, family, and memories for me. It's a time to be thankful and let the people in your life know how much they mean to you. Gift giving to me means finding that one special gift that lets your loved one know you really know them! I love finding unique gifts in boutiques or Etsy shops, the off the beaten path stores where you can find one of a kind goods.

Starting this Monday, I'm offering a 20% off discount for the Etsy shop through 12/20! Maybe you will find that perfect handmade gift for your loved one this season.

Herbal Tea Season

Friday, November 14, 2014

It's freezing outside in Charleston. Well, almost freezing anyway. Winter in Charleston means perfect weather in the 70's one day and 40's the next. Weather like this leaves me with little to do than curl up with my Italian Greyhound Emma, a few blankets, and some herbal tea.

My favorite is this herbal appropriately named Happily Ever After that promises sleep easing properties. I love the unique floral scent and mellow soothing flavor of the delicate mixture. Rip Van Winkle is another similar blend that has strong floral flavors on top of a mint tea finish. You can find these blends at Tin Roof Tea.

Tin Roof Tea is an incredible little independent tea shop in Raleigh with an extensive selection of tea blends as well as the individual leaves and flavors available at your convenience to mix and match your own blends as you wish. During one visit I was seeking an Earl Grey with a floral flavor and the attendant suggested a mild Earl Grey tea and mixing in some lavender. The result was exactly what I was looking for and turned out to be one of my favorite teas yet.

While you can't scratch and sniff your web browser to check out the flavors, you can certainly find specific scents or flavors you would like to add to a basic tea and make your own blend using the Tin Roof Tea website.

Time for a change

Monday, November 10, 2014

I've been on hiatus lately. Blame it on lack of inspiration, burnout, or life itself but I've let the shop go on auto pilot for months now. The website has been lacking in direction and it's time to revamp.

In my world the best solution for a lull in creativity is a change of scenery. The website is taking on a fresh, clean look with the intent of simplifying its purpose.

Queen St. Artisan will continue to produce repurposed but original designs and you will still find the shop on Etsy. But the blog will be slimmed down to showcase my shop, my work, and the images that inspire it.

Thanks for stopping by,

Tara
